An adorably quirky bovine with realistic flare.

Description

Running with the bulls just got softer!

Imagination can take you Anywhere!

A quirky, squishy and cuddly cow or bull for any bovine lover.  A variety of fabrics work well for this project, my favorite for optimum softness is minky.

This sewing project is suitable for an adventurous confident beginner since there isn’t any complicated sewing for the easiest options and I walk you through each step with detailed instructions and photos to illustrate each step.  Your creativity is encouraged with variations to help you customize your stuffed animal. Variations can also help you plan for the skill level and time commitment of your project.

Dress him up a little with a bandana or give her a cute dress. Both are free tutorials in my mini tutorials section. Real bovines are often tagged on the ear, I even have a free tutorial for that.  How about adding a little cow bell to its neck?

"This pattern is FANTASTIC!, as are all of Rena’s designs. There are many photos throughout the pattern to help make the process very easy. She also includes many different options to create breed specific animals. The cloven hood option takes a bit longer, but is SOOOOO worth it."
Jocelyn Marchuk
"Just finished my bovine, loved the pattern, so imaginative, just what I have come to expect from Rustic Horseshoe"

  1. Jennifer

Excellent instructions that include clear pictures. This pattern has tons of options so you can make your own herd including bulls and cows! Lovely, cuddly bovine!

  2. Ginger Janes

Her patterns are so fun to put together. She does such good work.

  3. Rebekah Homer

I just can’t love this pattern enough. This isn’t my first Rustic Horseshoe Pattern, and it definitely won’t be the last. I love how these patterns ride the line between cartoony and realistic. Though the Blissful Bovine is definitely more playful, the subtle lines and little details (horn shapes, hoof shape) create a distinctly bovine look: one that doesn’t rely on using “cow print” to know if it’s a cow. I greatly appreciate the thorough directions and the multiple options that allow you to personalize this softie and adjust for your personal skill level. Everyone in my home adores my little Holstein, and I love learning about cows to decide what variety to make next.

  4. Dorothy Cissell

I love this “Blissful Bovine Bull” pattern. As with ALL of Rena’s patterns, they are easy to follow, step-by-step instructions that make sewing this pattern a breeze. I love the many options to choose from like horn shape, hooves, a wig and even a nose ring! You won’t be sorry with your finish animal!

  5. Tracy Pitt

With easy to follow instructions and corresponding picture to go with them, you really will have a easy time putting together this wonderful cuddly bovine.
I loved making this pattern, you can also choose between a bull or a cow with the udders. Also there is 5 different types of horns to choose from for 5 of the most popular cow breeds like the super hairy Highland cow I made.

The instructions are well written with lots of pictures. I found the muzzle a bit tricky to attach with my slippery minky, and found it helpful to hand tacking it down before sewing it on the machine. My bull came out very cute!

  7. Steph Edinga

This pattern was super fun to make! All of the different options allowed my kids to choose the bovine features they liked best to truly get the look they wanted. Thank you for the great pattern, the instructions were very easy to follow and I would gladly recommend this pattern to anyone.

  8. Andrea Nikolakis

I was so thrilled with how cute my Highland Cow turned out. Rustic Horseshoe patterns never disappoint! Rena’s directions are clearly written with numerous photos that show the step by step process to create your very own bovine friend. Multiple options during construction allow you to choose your difficulty level. A confidant beginner should have fun putting this plush together, while the cloven hoofs also make it interesting for the seasoned sewist. Highly recommend!

  9. Kim Hand

I have become hooked on these patterns, this is the 5th one I’ve made. The comprehensive instructions with photographs make it so easy to follow and get a great result. I made 2 bovines, a highland long haired one and a black and white short haired version, both have turned out great. Would highly recommend these patterns, there’s so much thought and time gone into making them as easy to follow so everyone gets great results each time.

  10. Anna Pascual

This was the pattern that introduced me to Rustic Horseshoe. I bought this pattern from etsy and it took me a few years to be brave enough to make it. Well let me tell you I shouldn’t have been so intimidated of this pattern. It was super easy to follow. I enjoyed it so much have made four of these cows.
